Learn How To Create Online Content And For Your Brand
Developing an online business requires you to create value for your audience so learn how to create online content to provide that value.
Hi Trish Davies, here again and today I want to look at a very important element to your online business. That element is the content that you publish online to deliver your message and create brand awareness.
Content is very powerful as it enables you to deliver your unique perspective which helps make that connection to your ideal audience. Your tone, language and method of delivery is what will set you apart from your online competitors.
You will develop your own style and when you bring this all together it will create a complete content creation package. This total package will define who you are and what you stand for which will in turn attract the ideal audience to your business.
When it comes to online content you must look at 4 styles of content that you create are as follows.
- Informative
- Educational
- Inspiring
- Entertaining
What you must also define is the purpose of your content and the message you want to deliver. Always think of the end goal and then work backwords, reverse engineer in other words.
Structure is very important; your content must make sense and be delivered in a logical way. Make sure you the necessary research for your content such as keywords, statistics, and references.
This will help you attract visitors to your website and deliver high value content. The emphasis is to create high quality and unique content that represents you and your brand. So how do you achieve creating high quality online content?
How To Create Online Content
Now you may feel this is all a bit overwhelming and not quite sure where to start.
Therefore, I have a created a simple 5 step process, so you know how to create online content. I have called it the 5 “C’s” which may sound strange initially but it will all become clear shortly.
This is a process that I use for my own online content on all of my publishing channels. It is also a process that I teach my members so they can create their own online content and content for the training courses.
Consistency Is Critical
The first “C” stands for consistency. This is critical when it comes to building your following and building your audience. I have a schedule that plans out exactly when I'm going to be posting content.
For my YouTube channel I have made a commitment that I will post to my channel every Tuesday and Friday. That gives me the commitment or the obligation to ensure that I post that content. This means my audience know when those videos are going to be released and produced.
Email marketing is very powerful, so I make sure that I am broadcasting to my email list at a minimum of at least twice per week. Again, I have a schedule or a planner that plans out when those broadcasts go out.
LinkedIn is another social media platform that I really leverage to post my articles to. Some of those articles are based upon videos that I create on YouTube. Those videos are then uploaded to YouTube for my audience on that platform. I then take the link for that video and embed it within the written content I create.
That written content is then repurposed into blog posts that I publish on my two websites. Within those blog posts I can embed the video code so that my YouTube video plays on my website. You will see how this process works at the end of this post because I have the video around this subject of online content embedded within this post.
I post three times per week to BuildYourAU.com and I post once per week to Trish DaviesInternational.com. This creates a strategy around both of those websites, both of those businesses, to make sure that I am posting consistency consistently. I can’t emphasise enough how consistency is critical to building your online content.
How To Create Online Content By Getting Your Creative Juices Flowing
Number two or the second “C” is to get creative. To achieve this so make sure that you're embedding pictures, visuals in your content to engage your audience. There are some brilliant websites out there that you can actually go and get free royalty free images.
You can get really good, high quality and high-resolution images from the following two resources. I use websites Pexels.com and Pixabay.com which both hold tens of thousands of images.
Just type in your general topic and there's a whole raft of images that come up for you. You can download them in many sizes and then can add them to all of your visual content.
What you must do is stir up emotions within your articles, within your blogs, within your content. You want to make it shareable so you want to make it engaging, may be fun.
Your objective is to grab people’s attention and make it much more memorable for them. High quality images break up your written word and add to that engagement and that retention. Remember to be creative when putting together your content to add that engagement value to your content.
Make That Connection With Your Audience
The third “C” is all about connecting. The best way to connect with your audience is through sharing your story. Share the experiences that you've had in the past, through the problems and the challenges that you've had to overcome.
By connecting or by delivering your story in your messaging, you will reach out to millions of other people. All of those people will have suffered or come up against with those problems or those challenges. It's a brilliant way to be able to connect with your audience and to make that long lasting connection.
Another way of connecting is doing your research correctly by going into Google and searching for specific keywords. Those keywords have particular search volume each and every month. That volume can range from anything from 10 searches per month all the way through to thousands to hundreds of thousands of searches.
There is a sweet spot at I teach within my training program Build Your AU. I teach and share with others how to find that sweet spot when it comes to keyword research. Also, what platforms to use to be able to get the most effective numbers for your topics or for your niche areas.
It's so important to do that research before you write your content, before you create that video. Basically, before you do anything else, before you press that button. It's critical to do your research around the keyword terms that are going to be the most effective for you.
Once you do your content, you want to be able to target your audience. You want to make sure that your content is interesting, engaging and is going to be shared with others out there.
Communicating Your Message
The next step of the process is communicating your message to your audience. You want to make sure that you are original and authentic when it comes to communicating to your audience. Make sure that your content is in alignment with your story, with your values, and lines up with the goals that you want to achieve.
That is really important when it comes to communicating your message, making sure that it lines up authentically with who you are. When I talk about being authentic to connect with your audience you must talk about what you're passionate about.
Communicate that passion, communicate what's fun and what you love doing. Communicate your story because it is authentic, it is original, and it is you. By doing this you will be communicating your message in a real, raw, and authentic way to your audience.
Giving A Clear Call To Action
Finally, the fifth C is all about call to action and writing your CTA. It's imperative that you put a call to action. Whether it's a video, an article, a blog, an email broadcast, it's important to put a call to action, a CTA. Tell people what you want them to do.
It could be clicking a link, clicking a button or the play icon on a video. The links you put in could take people to landing pages, sales pages, your YouTube channel or even just to put a comment into the comment box.
Within blogs and articles, you really want them to click a link that takes them to a landing page. Somewhere they can give you their name and email in exchange for a piece of value. Something like an eBook or a video series.
This is a gift or a reward for giving you their contact details and is another way of providing value to them. It is another way of sharing content that you create but it is a transaction. You are getting something in return for the value that you are providing.
You must give clear calls to action. Everything must have some kind of call to action. You are taking people further on a journey to help them find out more about you and what you offer. Also, they will find out more about the value you provide.
This is how to create online content. To reinforce some of the more strategical points I have mentioned I have included the video on which this content was based upon. Sometimes when you watch a video you can really grasp the context behind the message.
