The online coaching industry has grown exponentially over the last few years. It has been given a massive boost because of Covid-19. Usually, a crisis creates massive opportunity, and that opportunity is here and now.
This is the perfect time for you to ride the wave of that opportunity and position yourself as an online coach. The thing is what do you coach people? Well, the answer to that is just about anything and everything but I want to break things down.
I am going to share with you a birds eye view of the online coaching industry. I have selected four broad categories that your online coaching business could fit into. Within those broad categories I will dig down deeper, expand the category.

Health
The health niche is massive which can be drilled down to potentially hundreds of different layers. Think of an onion when you cut it open and start chopping it up, the layers start to fall away. Also think about a tree when it has been cut down and you see all the rings that spread from the centre.
Well, the health niche and the other niches I will refer to today are exactly the same. When talking about a niche the layers and rings I mentioned are referred to as sub-niches. Each of those sub-niches have their own sub-niches and so on.
The broad niche can very quickly become a spiders web of sub niches. This is where you find your own vein of gold with the online coaching idea you come up with. Be sure to think of this principle as we move on.
So, the health niche is a multi-billion dollar industry. Before I give you an example of drilling down the health niche I want you to think about your own health history. Is there a health issue that you have overcome through a treatment program.
If there is then this could be the online coaching idea to work with. I say that because you are the success story. You are the one who has overcome the challenges. This makes you authentic and it gives you authority.
These are the two main ingredients that an online coach needs and what I teach within Build Your AU. When your potential audience sees this they will buy into you before they see the coaching program you deliver.

Now this is a hypothetical example, but you can see that the health niche has been broken down into the weight loss subcategory. That subcategory has been broken down further using an age parameter. Furthermore, the example has addressed dietary needs and any further health issues.
An online coaching program could be developed that looks at creating a diet plan. The program could incorporate a low impact fitness schedule. There is also the possibility to incorporate the need for a mindset shift for that person.
Wealth
The wealth niche is another massive niche. Again, look at you experience in creating and maintaining wealth which you could teach other people. More and more people every day are searching online for wealth creation strategies.
They could include creating an online business, investing in crypto currencies, trading in stocks and shares. They are just a few examples as there are far too many to list here.
My own experience is through real estate investment. This is still my number one wealth creation strategy and I have a substantial portfolio over in the United States of America.
Through that success and experience I created an online coaching program. This taught people how to do what I had already done which gave me the authenticity and authority.
Relationships
Relationships is another massive niche. Unfortunately, there are many people looking for relationship advice. Everything from, an in between, meeting someone new to divorce.
What is your relationship experience? What aspect have you overcome that can be shared with others. Are you a middle-aged man with three kids and a broken marriage behind you? Have you found happiness with someone else and now feel totally at peace and fulfilled in life? What is your story that you can share with others so they can feel like you do now?
Pastimes/Hobbies
Everyone has a pastime or hobby which they are passionate about. Is there something that you have mastered through hours and hours of practice. If there is then you can be sure that there are people out there who want to achieve the same success.
For example, say you had mastered knitting. You could create an online course that teaches the basic, intermediate and advanced skills of knitting. Add into the mix your catalogue of designs and an online workshop you have an online coaching business.
Those core principles can be replicated in any hobby or pastime.
