Learning Management System Examples For Online Coaches

As an online coach you must have be able to deliver your training material. Here are some learning management system examples that fit the bill.

Hi Trish Davies here and today I want to focus on platforms that host and deliver your online training programs. The technical term for such platforms are learning management systems, LMS for short.

These platforms are designed to help course creators such as yourself create content delivery systems. When you use an LMS you will have the access to software that provide step by step content delivery to your students.

For your students they can then access the system and navigate their way through a course in a logical way. So, for all users, creators and students, these systems create a seamless and great user experience.

If you are positioning yourself as an online coach then you will need a LMS in place. Today I want to share some leaning management system examples for to explore and see what is best for you.

Learning Management System Examples

There are lots of options out there when it comes to learning management system examples. What I am going to share with you fits into three specific categories so that you can choose what will fit into your business model.

I am going to share with you a free resource that one on my Build Your AU mastermind members discovered. Then I will look at what I call established e-learning institutions that provide the platform for online coaches to publish their programs.

Finally, I will share some advanced learning management systems that have in built marketing systems. I will also share the platform that I use to deliver all my online training programs. So, if that all sounds good let’s dive in!

Self-Hosted Learning Management System

The first platform I want to share has been brought to my attention from one of my Build Your AU members. My mastermind member was looking for a free option to keep the costs down on running their business.

The platform is called Moodle. Moodle LMS is the world's most trusted open-source learning management system (LMS). It delivers a powerful set of learner-centric tools to build a collaborative learning environment that empowers both teaching and learning.

My mastermind member has access to Moodle through her web hosting company. The Moodle LMS can then be added onto your domain name to create a content delivery platform. Therefore, you can create an online education institution within your own website. To learn more about Moodle click here or check out your own web hosting company to see if they provide this service.

Established eLearning Institutions

There are many web based eLearning institutions that you can leverage and deliver your content. They have a structure in place which enables you to add your course material in a modular format. In many ways it is filling in the blanks and you will see your course come to life.

They handle the hosting of your material and student management all in one dashboard. Also, they handle payments, refunds through their in built ecommerce solutions.

In general, they all have a free membership option for you as the course creator. For this option they will charge a set fee for each transaction and a percentage of the retail price. This level of membership has the basic features you need to position yourself as an online coach.

If you want to have more features then you must pay for them and they have multi paid membership levels. The more you pay the more features you have access to and the transaction fees come down. There are three main players when it comes to done for your solutions.

  • Teachable.com
  • Thinkific.com
  • Udemy.com

The main benefit in using these platforms is that they have an established customer base. They have thousands of courses in every niche possible. Therefore, an Amazon type scenario comes into play.

They will promote your course to other people who have purchased a similar course in the past. Also, they have an inbuilt affiliate program which you can leverage. This means you can allow affiliate marketers to market your course.

If they make a sale they get a commission which is a percentage of your retail price. Therefore, you will get more exposure.

Learning Management System Examples Within Built Marketing Systems

In my opinion if you are an online coach and course creator this is where you should aim to be. Not necessarily at the start but where you should work yourself up to. At this level you have total control of your online coaching business.

You also have the tools and resources you need to take your coaching business to the very highest level. You can create your own marketing systems, control your payment processing and manage your students on a one to one level.

Now these systems cost more but as the old saying goes “you get what you pay for”. Some of my mastermind members use systems such as ClickFunnels & SamCart so you could explore those to see if they are the right solution for you.

I personally use a learning management system called Kajabi which is tailormade for online course creators. To learn more about Kajabi watch the video below.
