Your audience is your virtual ocean of leads, prospects, and customers. They are aligned with you, your business, and the solutions that you provide. Solutions being your products and services.
They have problems that need to be solved and desires that need to be fulfilled. Your audience is constantly searching online for solutions and at this stage they are potential leads for your business.
It is your task to attract them to your business and you do that through automated lead generation systems. The key term here is “automated” because this is what you leverage.
You want an automated lead generation system that only requires you to do the work once. That is in the set up and then it only requires you to monitor the performance and tweak where needed.
The main benefit to you as a business owner is that it frees up your time. Time for future product development, time to spend with your family, doing the things that you enjoy doing.
Today I am going to show you the 3 steps to creating your own automated lead generation system. You will be pleasantly surprised how simple it is.
Automated Lead Generation System
As I have mentioned there is only three steps to set up to start bringing leads into your business. The only caveat is that it takes time, not too long, to set up but then it works for you 24/7 and 365 days a year. What you need is the following.
- Lead Magnet
- Lead Capture Page
- Advertising & Marketing
So, lets break down each step and then see how they work together as a lead generation eco system.
Lead Magnet
A lead magnet is an ethical bribe that you tempt your potential lead with. This is a transactional process because you offer something that has high perceived value. In return you collect the contact details of the person on the other side of the screen.
Once the transaction has been completed that person has been converted from a potential lead to an actual lead. They are somewhere on your database and therefore have become an asset for your business and company.
I will get more into the mechanics of how the conversion takes place in the next section. For now, I want to look at lead magnet examples and how you create them. Before I do though I want you to understand the purpose behind creating a lead magnet.
A lead magnet highlights the problems that people are experiencing. In other words, someone has an itch, and your lead magnet scratches it. It is designed to initially relieve the symptoms but not necessarily provide the ultimate cure.
You will give a solution within your lead magnet but in somewhat a diluted form. The advanced and full solution is what backs up the lead magnet, this is what you offer after the person has become a lead.
Types Of Lead Magnets For Automated Lead Generation
eBooks – eBooks can include reports, guides, worksheets, cheat sheets etc. Your eBooks start of in life as a simple Word Doc or similar alternative. You create your document in line with what you are solving, it is all in the content. Then you save the document which you offer as a PDF download.
Video Series – This is my favoured option. A video series has a higher perceived value than an eBook but again the power is in the content. What you do is create a video that you can offer for free, this is your lead magnet.
I offer a series of masterminds that I have hosted with my Build Your AU members. It is designed to show people how my training programs work, how they are structured etc.
Podcasts – Podcasts are audio files that you can offer for your lead magnet. For example, it could be a guided meditation session or maybe it is a snippet from a book. Here you offer the MP3 file for people to download.
One On One Consultation – Depending on what industry you are in you may want to offer a free one on one consultation with your potential leads. Therefore, your potential leads can book a time with you which you set up within a calendar application.
Those are just some examples of lead magnets, but the point of this step is to hook people in. You make people aware of a potential solution to their problems, offer them a solution and gain their contact details. So how do you collect those important personal details?
Lead Capture Page
A lead capture page is sometimes referred to as a squeeze page. The purpose of this page is to showcase your lead magnet and then squeeze people’s contact details out of them.
For this step you will need some lead capture software and there are plenty out there. I use a system called Convertri and if you would more information on this then please contact me here.
Now there are some core elements to a high converting lead capture page.
- Image or Video
- Hook (Headline)
- Sub-Headline
- A Reason For People To Want The Lead Magnet
- Opt-In Form

As you can see my lead capture page has all of the vital elements it needs to generate leads automatically. When people enter their details in the required field and click the red button it triggers a series of emails which then delivers the video series.
Advertising & Marketing
What you must do now is advertise and market to generate leads. You lead capture page is the page that you market on your preferred marketing channels. Whether it is social media, Google, LinkedIn you place the link to your lead capture page for people to click on.
Also, when you create content such as blogs on your website or videos on YouTube you link to your lead capture page. In a blog post you will hyperlink certain text with the URL for your lead capture page. On YouTube you will place the link in the description under the video.
As you can see this automated lead generation system is it’s own eco system. You create advertisements and marketing material for your lead capture page. When someone opts in through your lead capture page another system kicks in to deliver what you created as your lead magnet.
