5 Massive Benefits Of Blogging For Business
What are the benefits of blogging for business? Discover 5 reasons why you regularly create blog content to drive awareness to your business.
Hi Trish Davies, here to follow on from my previous post using video to market your business. Today I want to focus more on the written word and blog posts and looking at the benefits of blogging for business.
I say written word as blog posts are generally text articles that you publish on your authority website. Blog posts can also incorporate video, audio, and graphics around the text that you create. It is good to break up large blocks of text so that your content is more appealing on the eye.
Blogging is just one element of content marketing in general but can have huge impact on your followers. To facilitate blog posts you must have blog functionality on your authority website.
Many authority websites are installed using WordPress because of the ease to publish content. You can see at the top of this website a tab titled “Blog” and this is where all my posts are contained. Every time a blog post is published it appears in the blog reel which makes it very easy to navigate to and read my content.
With the amount of websites there are online you must have something that makes you stand out. Now the blog facility doesn’t make you stand out, the content that you publish does!
Publish blog posts are cost effective as they only take an hour or so of your time to create. That’s just one of the benefits of blogging for business, here are 6 more!
Driving Traffic Is The First Of The Benefits Of Blogging For Business
When you have a website one of your main goals is to drive as much traffic to it as possible. Without traffic your online business will struggle, you need as many eyeballs as you can get. This is where blog posts come to the fore.
Your posts are mainly designed to make people, website visitors, aware of your business. You make them aware through the content that you publish. Your objectives are to inform, inspire, educate, and entertain your readership so they become aware and engage with your business.
Whether it is first time visitors, or people who have visited your website, you must give them a reason to keep coming back. You do this by providing value to increase your brand identity and awareness. When you can do this, they will come back to check up on your updates and hopefully in time convert people into customers.
Blogging Helps You Establish Your Authority
Your blog posts are the best way to share your knowledge and experience. It is thee best way to establish yourself as an authority or expert in your field. Your readership will soon trust what you are saying, and they are a great relationship building tool.
I say this because you can really connect emotionally with your readership. When they feel you truly understand what they are feeling then they will become lifelong fans. They will keep coming back because they will feel you clearly understand their needs and desires. Then you can introduce them to the solutions that you have to offer which will solve their problems.
Blog Posts Are Great For Search Engine Optimization
Search engine optimization, or SEO for short, is a strategy for attracting website visitors to your website. This traffic comes directly from the search engines such as Google & Bing.
The search engines look favourably on websites that publish fresh, regular, high quality content. Their main function is to provide information to their users, information on what their users are searching for. Therefore, they rely on websites such as yours for that information.
Now there is a criteria that your content mush reach for the search engines to rank you in the search results. Your content must be optimised and relevant to the search terms that people are entering.
I cover this formula and strategy in great depth within my Build Your AU training program. You can learn more about this program by clicking here. When you do implement the formula, the result is that you will receive free traffic from the search engines.
Therefore, more traffic means more leads, prospects and paying customers for your business. All coming from the search engines and not costing you any money, just a little bit of your time.
Blogging Is An Effective Use Of Your Time
I have mentioned the time factor to blogging on a few occasions up to now. I understand that your time is valuable, and you will put a monetary value to your time. Think of this though for a moment. One piece of quality content can be seen by potentially thousands of people.
The process starts with you publishing your post on your website. When people read it and find it valuable, they can then share it to all their profiles online. Suddenly you have massive exposure to your work which has taken an hour or so to create.
It really is the snowball effect where it starts small and as it continues to roll becomes bigger and bigger. You blog post can be that tiny snowball but gets bigger as more and more eyeballs see it.
Blog Posts Are Your Platform To Deliver Your Message
Through your content you can really show your true personality and the personality of your brand. You will have your own tone, language and perspective which will connect with people who are aligned with you.
Your readership will understand the topics and issues that you are raising because you will be talking their language. They will relate, resonate, and connect to your message and above all be confident that they are in the right place. A place where they can find reassurance, safety and security from a person who is one of them!
Those are the 5 benefits of blogging for business but to make them effective you must have a plan. If you fail to plan the n you plan to fail so here are some key elements to effective blogging.
- Every blog post must have a purpose or objective.
- You must publish regularly and a minimum of 3 posts a week.
- Your blog posts must be high quality and add value to the reader.
- Structuring your post is important, use images and headlines to break up the text.
- Keyword research must be done.
- Each post must talk to the person reading it so write them as though you are talking to a friend.
