Leverage These Brand Awareness Marketing Strategies
Your audience must be aware of your brand therefore you must use brand awareness marketing to increase your brand exposure. Here’s how!
Hi Trish Davies, here and the topic for today is brand awareness marketing to increase exposure for your business. Your audiences journey starts with you attracting their attention, basically raising your hand to say you exist.
At this moment they don’t know who you are and how you can potentially help them with their problems. With the digital age as it is when your potential audience has a problem the first place they turn to is the internet.
Specifically search engines such as Goole, YouTube, Bing etc. You at some point have done the exact thing when you want information on how to do a number of different things.
That is an important thing to understand as your audience are just like you, real people, real problems. Therefore, you must adopt the mindset of a potential customer when you tackle your marketing efforts. Specifically building that brand awareness in the early stages of your relationship with the person on the other side of the screen.
So how do you do that?
Brand Awareness Marketing Through Creating Content
Brand awareness marketing works through creating content that speaks to you audience. Your audience goes to their device and enters a search term that reflects what problem they are experiencing. For example, “brand awareness marketing” as you have today.
This is proof of concept because I am creating content around the subject brand awareness marketing. Therefore, when creating your content, you must reverse engineer the process and think about what your audience is thinking about.
Now reverse engineer by doing research into your market sector. That involves going into the same search engines your audience uses and plugging questions that they are potentially asking.
Google, YouTube and social media platforms are all search engines, and these are the places your audience is hanging out. I specifically mention these as I will share three brand awareness marketing strategies you can leverage in just a moment.
Now the research process does take some time, but it is an important task you must go through. When you have then you will have a list of keywords and phrases which are all content marketing topics. Here are some resources to use when doing your research.
- Google Search Engine
- YouTube Search Engine
- Answer The Public
These are the three main resources I use along with a Google Chrome extension called Keywords Everywhere. This one extension will give you all the date you need when using the three resources I have shared with you.
When using these resources, you must think like a potential customer. What questions are they asking? What problems do they have? The next step is to create that content.
Types Of Content To Create Brand Awareness
There are two main types of content you should be creating to create brand awareness. There are however multiple publishing channels you should be leveraging to share that content. Let’s start with the types of content.
Video
Video marketing is my favourite marketing strategy, and you can check out my YouTube channel here. I say check out my channel because it will give you ideas on the content you should be creating to build your brand awareness.
When I create videos, I go through the research process to make sure I address questions people are asking. Then I create my video around that topic specifically so that YouTube acknowledges the content is relevant, so they rank me higher in their results.
Basically, they are rewarding me for providing high quality and specific information which their users are searching for. This is a basic supply and demand formula to follow and a great way for people to become aware of your brand.
Blogging
Blogging is a process of creating high quality articles around a specific problem just like you are reading now. This is a blog post and search engines such as Google love high quality blog posts.
Google must meet their users demand for high quality content. Therefore, independent publishers such as myself create content so Google can meet that demand. They are vey much like YouTube in regard that they reward independent publishers by ranking them in their search results.
Again, the research process is the same methodology. At the time of writing this post there are 880 people, predominantly business owners, who are searching for “brand awareness marketing”.
I have done the research and found the demand for this information. Then I simply create that information to help people along with making them aware of my brand. People will visit this page on my website then take some time to explore the other information I have published which can further help them.
This process builds up my authority in my industry which gives me the potential to work further with my audience.
Social Media Platforms
Social media platforms are a great place to build brand awareness and create a following of people. Those people are potential leads and customers who are looking for information.
With social media you can create bite sized posts which are based upon your research. Posts that provide value first and foremost so that people become aware of your brand and how you can help them.
You can share your videos and blog posts on social media as they provide value. Your objective when building your brand awareness is to create a relationship with you audience.
When your audience know, likes and trust you then that is the stage to promote your products and services. This is when they will take the relationship further and make the commitment to buy, not when they first come across you.
Brand awareness marketing is very powerful when you do it the correct way. Money and profit must not be your initial focus so don’t do the hard sell act initially. Lead with value to build your brand awareness then the relationship will take a natural course. Money will flow later down the line, then it will continue to flow well into the future.
