8 Reasons Why You Should Create Your Own Affiliate Program
If you are struggling for sales then start working smarter and not harder. Get other people to generate sales and create your own affiliate program.
Hi Trish Davies here and today I am going to share a strategy that will increase your sales. Now I know that is a bold statement to make but it is true if you implement this strategy correctly.
As a business owner you will understand how hard it is sometimes to generate leads and customers. You will have your own marketing strategies in place such as YouTube, blogging, social media and pay per click. They are just a few examples and there are many others.
Marketing and advertising must be your key money producing activities. You must have a marketing strategy in place that you execute on a daily basis. The trouble is that as an independent business owner you only have a specific amount of time in the day.
It would be nice sometimes to create an 8 day week and a 36 hour day to give you more time. Alas that is not an option so you must do your best in the time you have. However, that does restrict the amount of leads and sales that you can generate on your own.
That is however unless you have a bottomless pit for your marketing budget. So, imagine if you could clone yourself and have a mini me beside yourself to lighten the load. Then if you duplicated that process to manifest 4, 8, 16 people etc. Imagine what would happen then.
Your leads and sales figures would explode. Here is how you do that!
Create Your Own Affiliate Program
Imagine if you could build an army of hungry and motivated people who promote your brand. Imagine having hundreds, if not thousands, of marketing campaigns out there on the internet generating leads and sales. Those campaigns will bring hundreds, thousands, of new contacts and customers into your business.
This is all possible if you leverage a specific type of marketer and business model. That business model is called affiliate marketing and those people are called affiliate marketers.
Affiliate marketers promote other peoples products and services. If you have done this yourself you will understand the process and benefits for business owners. However, this time you are the business owner so flip things around a full 360 and create your own affiliate program.
Here are 8 reasons you should do just that.
It Is Performance Related
Marketing and advertising are hard skills to master and can be very expensive. What you think is a great ad can bomb like the Titanic and cost you an awful lot of money. So why not pass the buck so to speak and let other people have that headache.
Affiliate marketing is performance related which means you only pay out when a sales is generated. That payment is the commission that you pay the affiliate for their successful marketing campaign.
If they know what they are doing and generate tons of sales then your pay-out will be more. Don’t panic though because it means you are earning more. If their campaigns are rubbish it hasn’t cost you a penny.
You Know Your Upfront Costs
This is closely related to the previous point. When you do your own marketing and advertising you have variable upfront costs. Sometimes you can have a cost per acquisition od say $10. However other times it could cost you $50 which means you find yourself in a fluid situation.
When you have affiliates working for you then you know exactly what your upfront cost is. That is because you set a commission rate right from the word go.
You Get Laser Targeted Traffic
Inexperienced marketers tend to try and sell a product to every man and his dog. They go broad and target the 7+ billion people on the planet. That is like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
Good affiliate marketers know that this approach is folly. Instead, they know the secret is to only target people who they know are interested. Makes sense right? They target the specific niche audience for the product or service. They also have warm lists which means their own data base of people who are a perfect match. An ideal customer.
You Can Choose The Affiliates You Want To Work With
Affiliate marketing is a perfect business model for people starting out in online business. The trouble is that many of those people don’t have any experience or success. Some affiliate programs open themselves up to any one which is the wrong approach.
You are in control of your affiliate program so you can vet the people who apply to join your program. Have an application process in place where you can ask the questions you want.
What experience have they got? How long they have been doing affiliate marketing? Can they show proof of success? How are they going to promote your products and services?
Thise are just a few key point you need clarity on. You don’t want any tom, dick and harry promoting your products and services. They may be spammers, unethical and ruin your reputation.
You want professional affiliate marketers who will use the appropriate methods. People who will promote your brand well and be proud to promote it.
Affiliates Boost You Search Rankings
When potential consumers need solutions they turn to the internet and search for that solution. Search engines are incredibly complex and I do not profess to know everything about how they work. What I do know is that a business’s search engine rankings rely on providing value and backlinks.
This means the content on the internet that represents your business. This can be you own or the affiliates you have working for you. The more blog posts, the more social shares, the more affiliate websites will increase those backlinks. That all adds up to a better search engine ranking for your business.
Provides You With Multiple Marketing Streams
More is a lot better when it comes to marketing and advertising. Say for example you have a 100 affiliates it doesn’t mean you have 100 different marketing streams. Each of those affiliates will have multiple strategies that they are using. Therefore, you will have thousands of marketing streams working all at the same time.
There is a saying that you mustn’t have all your eggs in one basket. Having affiliates promoting your products and services takes you out of that basket. They have the same mentality and vary their marketing campaigns.
The internet is a huge playing field for marketers but it is not without it’s headaches. Things go wrong which was perfectly illustrated just a couple of weeks ago with Facebook.
Millions of marketers were pulling their hair out for a number of hours as their ads weren’t being shown. They were losing money hand over fist but the good ones had other platforms where their ads were being shown.
Therefore, you are not restricting your lead generation and sales conversion. Your affiliates will have your back and they will still be bringing in those sales for you.
Consumers Trust Good Affiliates
People all around the world are sceptical and simply don’t trust businesses who say their products are the best. No one likes a pushy company who are only interested in hard sale tactics and hype to generate a sale.
On the other hand, consumers do trust influencers who are your affiliates. Affiliates are in general honest people and will give consumers the information they require. If the affiliate thinks a product is crappy then they will say so. Likewise, if the affiliate trusts the vendor then they will endorse that vendor.
This is what consumers want. They are looking for an honest third party recommendation. If your affiliates are well connected, well liked and credible then consumers will take notice. They are more likely to buy through recommendation than through hard sale methods.
Affiliates Save You Time & Money
Affiliate marketers save you time and money. Runing a business requires investment in both but affiliates lighten the load and your expenses. When it comes to time it is obvious because they are doing all the marketing for you. You will have your own marketing campaigns but you will also have hundreds, if not thousands, of others working alongside.
As regard to money affiliate marketers are independent business owners. You won’t need to employ them and have them on your payroll. They are not hired staff therefore you don’t have headaches to deal with such as salaries, tax, sick & holiday pay.
They are not costing you anything apart from the commission you pay them. Remember they have earnt you the same as you pay them.
I recommend you create your own affiliate program for your business as I have one for mine. I am also an affiliate for other vendors and it is a brilliant business model for all parties concerned.
