I make no apologies in banging on about how important your story is. It is the most powerful element to any marketing strategies that you use for your business. What you must do is use your story to create a strong branded message.
Your objective must be to emotionally connect with your audience. How you tell your story will determine the level of emotional connection. What you must understand is that any potential lead, prospect, or customer want to know about who they are dealing with.
You must relate to your audience on a deep level. This means making sure that your audience knows that you have been in their position at some point. Telling them that you have had the same problems that they are now experiencing, and you have the solutions they need.
Your branded story must reinforce confidence in your niche or industry expertise. Part of my story involves my journey with real estate investing. I actually purchased my first property at the age of 19, a decision I made while I was experiencing a life-threatening illness.
Fast forward a number of years I re-entered the real estate investment industry because of another life changing moment. Five years after I tragically became a single mum, I needed a way to create a financial firewall around myself and my daughter.
I invested in my education, sought mentorship, and then invested financially into real estate in the USA. Over the last 12 – 15 years I have created a vast portfolio of properties in the USA. That portfolio is both a financial asset and a revenue generating stream, therefore creating that financial firewall.

Communicate Your Story To Your Audience
You have just heard a brief outline of my story; you will have your own which is just as powerful. What you must then do is tell your story to your audience but how do you do that?
Fortunately, you live in an age where telling your story is very easy. There are many platforms all over the internet that you can leverage to get your message across. Before you contemplate publishing your story you must know where your audience hangs out.
It may be social media, YouTube, public forums, the list is endless. You just need to do your research so that your message has impact on the right people. All of these platforms are publishing tools, they are easy to set up and are predominantly free.
Develop Your Own Publishing Platform
To establish real authority online you must have your own platform to publish on. This is your authority website/blog and it is something that you control 100%. Here you will publish high value content that is designed to make your audience aware of who you are.
Your content is also designed to create engagement with your audience. You do that by asking for feedback, posting the links to your posts on your social media channels. This drives people from all your other platforms back to your main hub, your home online.
Once you get them to your website/blog you can then direct them where to go to find out more about you. You will soon develop a following of people who are aligned with your message, people who have the same interests.
It is then easy to generate leads from your audience by offering more value through free resources. Resources such as free eBook, guides and video training series that offer high value content.
Every piece of value you offer is like placing another brick in the wall of your business. Cementing your authority and a person who’s purpose is to serve your audience.
What you must establish is a place that when someone visits for the first time, they know exactly who you are. They know what you do and how you can help them. When you do this your audience will see you as an authority in your field.
