Hi Trish Davies here and today I want to show you how to become an authority in your niche. Times have been changing over the last decade or so in respect on how consumers make their final purchasing decision.
Although there are no official figures the general census is that a person will see between 6000 – 10000 ads per day. That is down to the vast array of media and publishing channels to which you and I are exposed.
However, the consumer marketplace becomes blind to the endless pitching of products and services. They have changed the habits and are looking for something to catch their eye, something to stand out from the crowd.
Consumers are looking for people and brands that they can relate to, resonate with and trust. They don’t want the hard sell anymore or be subjected to hysteria and hype.
Consumers want to feel connected to people and brands to understand their problems and provide solutions. You landed on this webpage because you want to know how to become an authority in your niche.
The way you do that is through communication, connection and providing a safe place for your audience. These are the three elements that I want to focus on to help you position yourself as an authority in your niche. The following 5 step process will help you establish that authority.
How To Become An Authority In your Niche
Create Your Message
This is the first step to becoming an authority in your niche. I said previously that you must have the ability to communicate to become an authority. That communication is based around your message and the information that you want to share with others.
Your message is your purpose and how you want to serve your potential audience. Mine is clear and concise!

You must define what you message is. Your products and services must then relate to that message. The next step is to determine how you want to communicate that message.
Communicating Your Message
Fortunately, we live in a digital age which makes it very easy to communicate and share your message. The objective of your message is to attract the ideal audience to your business.
There many ways in which you can do this. You can create articles, blog posts, like the one you are currently reading. Also, you can create videos and publish them on platforms such as YouTube. You can also use social media through the profiles you create.
Your goal is to stand out from your competitors and catch the eye of your ideal audience. You can join social media groups that are closely related to your niche. Here you must position yourself as someone who has experience, expertise but foremost someone who is there to help. You help by making valuable contributions to the conversations that are taking place. Also, you can look at websites and blogs within your niche and make valuable contributions through commenting on blog posts.
Another strategy is to join open forums online, question an answer websites and answer peoples questions. Promote your own content such as blog posts and videos through various digital marketing strategies. For example, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn etc.
Create A Safe & Secure Hub For Your Audience
If you do the first two steps of this process correctly you will find that your audience will reach out to you. When they do offer them a safe and secure hub which they can join.
You can create private social media groups. Also, you can create a community group within your own website. I have a mastermind group which is exclusively for my Build Your AU members which I host on the Zoom platform.
Nurture Your Audience
Now you have your safe and secure hub for your audience it is time to start nurturing your audience. Wherever and however, you decide to create your community environment this is the place where you start to provide value to your audience.
Share helpful and valuable content with them. Offer free resources that will benefit them. Share your story and the experiences you have had so they start to connect with you. In time they will start to know, like and trust you through your transparency.
Start to understand what their dreams, goals and challenges. Then show them how they can then achieve those dreams and goals.
Monetize Your Audience
At this stage you will have started to win their hearts and affections. They will now trust you and become influenced by you. This is your opportunity to monetize your authority by introducing them to your products and services.
These are the solutions to their problems. Focus on how your products and services can transform your audiences lives and how they can achieve their desired outcome.
