How To Create A Following In 5 Easy Steps
Your business must have a strong following of people to survive. Here’s how to create a following for your business.
Hi Trish Davies here and today I want to look at creating a following for your business. Your following is the lifeblood for your business so here is how to create a following that lasts.
- What would your life look like if you had a following of people who admired you and wanted to be like you?
- What would your world be like if the people in your life were inspired by you and wanted to follow in your footsteps?
- Finally what would it be like if the people around you aspired to be more like you?
That sounds ideal, but how do we get there? How do we attract people in our lives who admire us and want to be like us?
The reality is that not everyone will admire us or want to be like us. In fact, most people won’t. However that doesn’t mean we can’t create a following of people who admire us and want to be like us.
It just means that we need to take a different approach than what has been traditionally suggested by most self-help books and gurus on social media.
Here are five steps that will help you create a following of people who admire you and want to be like you.
How To Create A Following using These 5 Steps
Step One: Stop Trying To Impress Everyone & Constantly Be Confirmed
When we try to impress everyone, no one is impressed. Similarly, when we’re always seeking confirmation from others that we’re good enough. Or that we’re worthy of their attention. No one will give it to us!
People want to be around authentic individuals who are comfortable with who they are. Not those who are constantly trying to prove themselves to be worthy of their time.
If you’re trying too hard to be impressive and constantly seeking confirmation from others, you’ll drive people away. They’ll resent you for being needy and always needing their validation.
You won’t attract admirers or create a following when you’re too focused on impressing everyone around you. In fact, you’ll repel people and drive them away by coming off as fake and disingenuous.
Let your confidence in yourself and your abilities shine through to create a following. However don’t try too hard to impress everyone and constantly seek confirmation that you’re good enough.
Step Two: Be Vulnerable & Authentic
If you’re too afraid to be vulnerable and authentic, you’ll never create a following of people who admire you and want to be like you. When you’re authentic and vulnerable, you’ll naturally attract people who admire you and want to be like you.
People gravitate towards those who are authentic and vulnerable. There’s a certain magnetism that comes from being vulnerable and letting your true self shine through.
Vulnerability and authenticity won’t attract everyone and you may still repel people. However it will certainly attract the right people who admire you and want to be like you.
Only by being authentic and vulnerable will you attract the right people and find yourself building a following. If you’re too afraid to be yourself and share your vulnerabilities with others, you won’t create a following.
Step Three: Create Content People Care About
If you’re constantly trying to say or do things to impress others, you’ll never have a following of people who admire you and want to be like you. People don’t care about what you have to say or what you do.
They care about what they can get out of what you have to say and what you do. If you’re constantly creating content that people care about, you’ll begin to accumulate a following of people who admire you and want to be like you.
It’s not about impressing people;
it’s about providing value to them. People admire those who provide value.
If you’re constantly creating content that people care about, you’ll begin to find yourself attracting a following.
Step Four: Focus On Relationships, Not Numbers
If you’re constantly seeking out new followers, likes, and comments on your social media posts, you’ll never build a following of people who admire you and want to be like you.
People admire those who focus on quality over quantity. People admire those who know who they are and are confident enough to not constantly seek attention and approval from others.
If you’re too focused on numbers, you’ll repel people and drive them away. If you focus on building quality relationships with the people in your life, you’ll naturally attract a following. Also you’ll find yourself surrounded by people who admire you and want to be like you.
Step Five: Give People A Reason To Care About You
If you try too hard to attract attention and admiration from everyone, you’ll repel people and drive them away. People want to be around those who are genuine and care about others.
People want to be around those who help make their lives better in some way. People want to be around those who make a difference in the world.
If you’re constantly seeking attention and admiration from everyone and doing everything you can to prove to people that you’re worth their attention, you’ll repel them and drive them away.
Instead, give people a reason to care about you and admire you by helping make their lives better. Focus on adding value to the lives of the people in your life, not constantly seeking admiration and attention from them.
When you do these five things, you’ll attract a following of people who admire you and want to be like you.
You’ll create a group of people around you who aspire to be more like you and want to follow in your footsteps.
Now that you know how to create a following, you just need to put in the work. Follow these five steps and you’ll be well on your way to attracting a following of people who admire you and want to be like you.
Hopefully, these five steps have given you a better idea of what it takes to create a following of people who admire you and want to be like you. Now it’s up to you to put in the work and make it happen.
