The Ultimate Guide To Self Discovery: The Self Discovery Questions To Ask Yourself To Find Yourself

How confident are you that you know exactly who you are? Self discovery is the process to answer that question. Here are some self discovery questions to help.

Hi Trish Davies here and today I want to help you find your inner self through self discovery. In particular the self discovery questions you must ask yourself.

It is said that we are the average of the five people we spend the most time with. So, if you feel like you want to know more about yourself and who you are, it's important to take a step back and get acquainted with yourself.

Many of us tend to focus on what they want and need in life while forgetting to look at themselves. We all have different beliefs, values, and goals in life. However it's hard to align them when we don't know who we are or where we're going. If you are ready for a change in your life, find yourself by asking these questions!

The Self Discovery Questions You Should Be Asking Yourself

self discovery questions

  • What do I believe in?
  • What are my values?
  • Just what am I good at?
  • Do I have a talent or skill that can be leveraged for my purpose in life?
  • Who am I?
  • What defines me as a person?
  • Why am I here on earth?
  • What's my purpose and what does my life stand for?
  • What would happen if I don't follow my path with all of my heart and soul?

What Do You Want?

Do you know what you want? It's important to define that before anything else. Write down your top three life goals and where you see yourself in five years. This will help you find out what it is that you want in life.

Who Am I Really?

There are many things that we want in life but finding out who we are is the most important. The person you are today is not the same person you were five, ten, or even fifteen years ago. You may have changed and grown a lot over time.

We all change as we grow and mature, so try to think about who you were five years ago. Were you more adventurous or less adventurous? Did you prefer to wake up early or sleep in late?

Discovering who we are starts with asking ourselves questions about ourselves and where we're going in life. Let's start by asking yourself:

  • Who am I?
  • What do I want out of life?
  • What do I need in life?
  • Are these aligned with what I'm doing now?

Asking these questions will help us understand what needs to be changed and how we can change it. In order for us to find out who we really are, it's important to know where our values lie and what drives us to be who we are today.

Am I Doing What I Want To Do?

This might seem like an easy question to answer but it is often overlooked. If we don't know what we want, how can we go out and get it?

Imagine if you want to start a business and never even considered the idea that you didn't like starting businesses. You would spend years trying to figure out what you want to do with your life instead of being content.

Knowing what you want in your life is challenging enough. However knowing what you want for your future is even more difficult. Many of us have goals that are too vague or don't feel like they align with who we are.

If you're looking for change, take a step back and ask yourself if you are doing what you want to do. Do this by pinpointing three different aspirations that feel right based on who you are as a person and where your skills lie. After writing them down, ask yourself if those three things align with each other.

If not, it's time for some self-discovery!

What’s Your Purpose in Life?

We all want to be happy and we want to do something meaningful with our lives. However first you have to figure out what makes you happy and what gives your life meaning.

It can be hard to know what's best for ourselves, so it's important to ask yourself these questions:

  • What is the most fulfilling part of my life?
  • How would I like my days to be structured?
  • What do I value in others?
  • What are the things that make me feel connected?
  • How do I think about the world around me?
  • Is there a thing in life that will give me a sense of fulfilment?
  • Is there a way for me to align my values with my day-to-day activity and feel better about myself at the end of the day?

Conclusion

Understanding yourself is the key to success in life.

  • What do you want to do?
  • Who are you really?
  • What’s your purpose in life?

These are all questions we should be asking ourselves. Answering them is the first step to finding yourself. If you need help with your self discovery then my Build Your AU program will help you answer these self discovery questions and more.
