As an online coach you need an online coaching platform to work from. Here is how to create your own online coaching platform from scratch.
Hi Trish Davies here and the focus for today’s post is to help you create your own online coaching platform. As an online coach you must have a structure on place to enable you to deliver your coaching material.
That coaching material will include many different formats. You will have eBooks, reports, work sheets, video and audio files. Those files will be downloaded by your students. They also will be protected behind a membership site that requires unique passwords to gain access.
Therefore, your computer will have many different folders that has this your coaching material inside. Obviously you can give the links to your folders or your files from your computer for security reasons.
Therefore, you must create your own coaching online platform which your customers can access. That platform must be secure for you and your customers. It protects your intellectual property, and it protects your customers personal and private data.
I will shortly introduce you to the coaching online platform that I use for my coaching business. Before I do that I want to share with you what you should look for when choosing your platform.
What You Should Look For In An Online Coaching Platform
Marketing System
Your coaching business starts with getting customers through your virtual doors. Therefore, you online coaching platform should provide you with a facility to create your own marketing system.
To get the ball rolling you must attract your ideal customer who initially becomes a lead. You marketing system starts with a lead capture page to help build your database of prospects which can then be converted into customers.
To convert them you needs a sales page which tell your leads just what your coaching program is all about. Here you emphasise the benefits your potential customer will experience when they purchase your program.
This is the money page for your coaching business. When people take action on this page and enter their credit card details they are directed to a thank you page. This page informs them on what they should do next to access their purchase.
Secure Payment Processing
We live in an age where people run the risk of getting scammed or having their personal details stolen. Therefore, your coaching online platform must have secure payment processing facilities.
This facility is linked to the “Buy Now” button that is in your sales page. When clicked it will open up a secure payment form where the customer enters their payment and personal details.
When submitted they will be directed to the thank you page which confirms their purchase. On that page will be a link that directs them to an account creation page.
Customer Account Creation
This phase of your coaching online platform is self-explanatory for the customer. They choose a username and password which then gives them access to your coaching material.
Coaching Program Delivery
Here is where all the files that you once had on your computer are now hosted. Your eBooks, reports, work sheets, video and files can be accessed from this password protected membership area. Below is a screenshot of the members area I have for my Build Your AU programs.
Here you can create your modular courses where people can view and download your coaching material. I say download but you only want them to download any written material you have.
I recommend that you don’t give permission for the download of your videos as this is your core coaching material.
The objective here is to create a great user experience. An experience which makes sense. Therefore, your coaching program should be set up as a step by step process. They start at point A and end at point B which is where they achieve their desired outcome.
These four elements are must have’s for your online coaching platform. Each element must work seamlessly with each other to deliver that great user experience. When your customer enters your system you must remove as many barriers as possible to initiate the action you want them take. That action is obviously to make the purchase.
