When in business you must put the customer experience outcomes first so learn how to create an authority business model to meet your customers’ expectations.
Hi Trish Davies, here, founder of Build Your AU. When you are in business your main focus is to serve your customers, to meet their needs and expectations. They are trusting you to solve problems that they are experiencing therefore they are looking for a positive experience.
You know yourself when you purchase products and services that there is a purpose behind you making that decision. Whether it is something that you desperately need, an impulse buy or purely a treat there is a reason for you taking out your credit card.
Really you can sum it up in one word and that is “outcome”. You are looking for a positive outcome and a great experience. As a business owner you must think like a customer, get in their head, and work out why they want what you have to offer.
In many respects it is reverse engineering what goes through the customers during the buying process. Yu want to provide great positive customer experience outcomes, so they come back to you time and time again.
So, what has this got to do with your authority business model? I have spoken at length about the three key business pillars that you must have in place. They are the foundation to your business and crucial to your success. Not only do they come together to create overall customer experience outcomes, each one must deliver its own outcome.
What I want to do is break down my own business model to give you more clarity for your own business.
Customer Experience Outcomes
When you are creating your own authority business model you must define your own pillars. This is clearly outlined in the image above which revolve around your core product. That delivers the ultimate customer experience outcome and meets their needs and desires.
Now to get to the ultimate customer outcome you must break things down and look at the three pillars. Look at the journey you want to take your customer on so that their needs and desires are met.
This is a three-step process that is designed to achieve three specific outcomes. Once your customer’s first outcome is met, they naturally move onto the next stage to achieve that outcome. Then they move onto the final stage to achieve that outcome.
Once they have gone through this cycle your products and services have delivered the customers desired outcome.
Start with what your product delivers to the customer. Then work out how each stage provides that natural flow to reach the final outcome. To give you some more clarity on how this process works let’s look at my Build Your AU authority model. This will provide you with some context.
The Build Your AU Customer Experience Outcomes
My Build Your AU programs are designed to help individuals create their own personal brand. That is the ultimate customer outcome that I want to deliver so I thought hard on how to achieve this.
I suggest you read my post on the key business pillars as this clearly explains how I defined my three pillars. The image below shows the three core pillars to Build Your AU as these will deliver the desired customer experience outcomes for all of my Build Your AU members.
My product is Build Your AU and there are many training programs that come under that umbrella. The outcome for my customers is once they complete the programs, they will have their own personal brand.
For me to deliver that outcome I have worked out that there are three main areas that I must focus on.
The process starts with authenticity because small business owners must present themselves as who they are. To connect with customers, they must come across real, raw, and totally transparent. There are no grey areas when it comes to this pillar.
I have marked this as an internal element as it comes from within a person. What is within that person must be extracted and then showcased for all to see. This is the first outcome that I must deliver to small business owners as they are my target audience. They can’t move onto the next pillar until this first stage has been achieved.
The next pillar and outcome is to establish their authority. This is an external element as it relates to what they are good at and what they have achieved. Then it is a case of establishing presence online to cement that authority for when people search for them online.
The last pillar and outcome for me to deliver is to show them how to attract their ideal audience. This involves strategy but it works very closely with the first two pillars which are authenticity and authority.
Again, this is an external element as there is a need to bring people in from the outside. All will become clearer in the next image as this is thee Build Your AU authority business model.
The Build Your AU Authority Business Model
Just to recap the product is Build Your AU and the training programs that make up that product. The customer experience outcomes for my member is to build their personal brands.
Your authority business model will look different, but the principles are the same. Your product will deliver the ultimate customer outcome.
As you can see, I have my three main pillars which are authenticity, authority, and audience. These are the three outcomes my members must achieve in this particular order.
The difference in this image is I have broken things down further into 9 sub-pillars. Each of those sub-pillars has an outcome for my members to achieve. I won’t go through each one as it is clear by the image what the outcomes are.
The customer journey involves 9 stages and when they complete those 9 stages, they experience their desired outcome.
This process is what you must have in place so you know the customer experience outcomes you must deliver. I realise that this may be a lot to take in and this is where I can help.
