There are many things you can do when establishing credibility in business, but have you ever thought about writing a book as your calling card?

The purpose for this post today is centred around becoming an author of your life but from a different angle. The context around author of your life is to tell your story and create the life that you dream of.

What I want to focus on today is highlighting a powerful way for establishing credibility in business. Credibility is closely aligned with authority which is one of the core pillars I help you establish within Build Your AU.

You must have authority and credibility in business. If you can’t establish those key elements then you will struggle to attract high calibre leads and customers to your business.

Part of my Build Your AU training program is to offer a platform for my members to present their authority business model. Here my members have the floor so to speak live on Zoom to show what they are good at and what they do to help other people.

My latest mastermind member to take the hot seat currently help independent writers become published authors. She has a process that includes everything from design, mind mapping, and a step by step strategy using a powerful publishing platform.

That platform is connected to a vast publishing network with tens of thousands of potential retail outlets. Now I am not going to get into specific details about what she’s does as it is her proprietary information.

I want to focus on the potential for establishing credibility in business through writing a book. Another one of my members summed it up perfectly when he said, “a book is the ultimate calling card”.

Calling cards, business cards in other words are one of the first things you hand out when you make connections in business. Imagine though if you could hand them a book that carries your face and tells your story? How much credibility would that give you?

Why You Should Write A Book 

The digital age makes it very easy for business owners to communicate with their audience. Social media platforms and your own website are the ideal platforms to connect with your audience.

These platforms help you make people aware of who you are, and they are also great tools to create engagement. A book however elevates you to a higher level and makes you stand out from your competitors.

Books have stood the test of time and will always be around even in this digital revolution. A book will instantly position you as an authority within you industry or niche.

Your book will show that you have put the time and effort in to create something so valuable. Also, authors command high standing in society, they are seen as authorities. Think about this for a moment. Authority starts with “author”!

So how can your book work for you?

A Book Is A Powerful Marketing Tool 

lead your lifestyleAs a business owner you will leverage many marketing tools and strategies. A book falls into both a tool and a strategy so lets look at how you can use your book to your advantage.

Your book can be compiled into two formats, the printed version and the digital version. Therefore, you have two angles of attack. Many people still like the tangible feeling a book gives you when you hold it in your hands.

You could give it away to form connections at meetings and seminars etc. You could send it to prospective clients through the mail, yes that service is just as powerful now as it ever has been.

If you have long standing clients you could give it to them as a gift in recognition for their support. You could also send it to key influencers within your  industry as they could potentially refer busines to you.

In the digital form such as an eBook you could use it as a lead magnet to gain prospective clients details. This way you are building a database of potential customers.

Also, you must never forget that your book could become an additional income stream for your business. Within the  copy you could have links to other products and services that you offer, this has a compounding effect.

Through the initial revenue generated there is the potential to ascend your readers into higher ticket products and services. Really the potential is so huge you are only restricted by your creative mind.
